Sample WebSite Designs

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so it is with web page designs. Are my designs attractive enough to achieve the first step toward retaining visitors to your website? That is for you and your customers to decide. An attractive page will certainly aid in retention but it is only the first step.

Here is a sampling of some of my designs and page layouts. They are presented in roughly reverse chronological order. The last one shown is, in fact, my first website, circa September 1997. Has my design technique evolved and improved? Do the designs fit the businesses and those businesses' customers? That's your call.

Thanks for taking time to look.

  • Sandra Nagy Hypnotherapist
A simple one-page site designed to allow for easy expansion. The images on the left, although not currently functional, offer an interesting bit of interactivity. Mouse over an image and it darkens and displays a word describing its theme. This site earned a top-20 Google ranking in just a few months. Link

  • Premier Marketing of Temecula
A clever, if I do say so, approach to a one-page site. Client wanted to offer minimal text so having a full page for each topic was unwise. Instead, the topic text is hidden beneath each info bar at the bottom of the images. Click and the text reveals itself.

Local farm offering innovative health and beauty aids plus farming priducts. This is the original design, circa 2004.
  • The Barley House West Restaurant
When I saw the logo I knew it should be hanging on a wood-faced building. Page design was then a no-brainer: Wood-grained background was the only choice. The owner liked it so much he designed his menus using wood planks.

My one venture into local politics. I know Randon from my involvement in the Murrieta Chamber. When he became a candidate I became a political web designer. Kewl!

  • Impact Marketing
Colors and graphics mimicked the company's brochure (at the time).
  • Loma Vista Bed & Bath
A simple design with a restful, peaceful look. What better for a B&B?
  • Mexican Cookware
My first shopping cart, circa 2003.
  • mx Shade
This company invented a shade umbrella/canopy that mounted on the trailer hitch. It was specifically for MX race fans. The colors I chose were different from most of my designs because I determined those bright and rather garish colors were popular with racers and their fans.
  • Redhawk Vineyards
A small vineyard that produced no wine. Their sole revenue stream was selling grapes to home winemakers.
  • Summerhouse Supper Club
  • The Valley Business Journal
  • Va-Room Makeovers
  • Black Diamond Investigations
Circa September 1997 this was my first attempt at website design. Yes, a bit cheesy by today's standards, but effective nonetheless. The site owner reported a new client from the site in the first week. And this was a great learning experience. I was a long-term Beta tester for Corel Draw. Through that I had many online contacts, fellow testers, who are highly skilled designers. I asked their opinions on this and other early design efforts and their suggestions and encouragement gave me a running start.
